MAIN DUTIES

MAIN DUTIES
1) Develop and update with the help of the coaches a rolling 12-month forward training programme for all of the squads.
2) Allocate water time to the squads after consultation with the club committee.
3) Allocate swimmers to squads after consultation with the club committee.
4) Ensure that you are well briefed about any special needs of the swimmers involved i.e. fitness levels, medical conditions, physical impairments or disabilities
5) Deliver the club’s coaching programme in conjunction with supporting Teaching and Coaching Team.
6) Encourage all coaches to obtain an ASA qualification.
7) Abide by all policies and codes as required by the club.
8) Liaise with the Team Manager and swimming committee to ensure that there are regular, appropriate, competitive opportunities for swimmers

MAIN DUTIES
1) Support and provide counseling for any swimmers who are struggling or feel they need to talk to someone about issues within the club - be it with the coaching, or between swimmers. This should be in confidence if the swimmer wishes it to be, or if there is action that can be taken, it should be handled appropriately.
2) Support the coach if any discipline issues arise in training and help to ensure that the code of conduct is adhered to by all swimmers.
3) Have a duty to present the views of the swimmers to the committee on any matters arising-they are the swimmers’ representative at committee meetings
4) Instigate and organise social events that would appeal to all members of the club.
5) Has a responsibility to attend galas - whether as a swimmer or in support of the team. Their conduct at all meets should be exemplary of the behaviour and attitude expected of BoA swimmers; supportive of all swimmers, whether they be from BoA or other clubs, encouraging towards swimmers to perform in light of the competitiveness at these events, and competing with good sportsmanship.
